Violence Preparedness & Response

When violence occurs your response is the critical factor.

With policies and procedures in place, organizations hope to reduce the likelihood of violence. But facts demonstrate most acts of violence are unpredictable, largely unstoppable and a matter of chance.

It’s a sad reality, but one look at today’s headlines proves it is reality, nonetheless.

Violence, like lightning, strikes brutally and without warning. But, organizations can’t be caught flat-footed, paralyzed by shock when constituents -- employees, students, community leaders, and media – seek and need leadership.

A comprehensive, thoughtful Violence Response Plan (VRP) is not developed in the heat of the moment. That is how big mistakes are made, information misreported and panic sets in.

The internet’s speed and reach makes preparation and rehearsal drills paramount. Just a few years ago, organizations had days to collect thoughts and respond to a crisis. Unfortunately, today they have only minutes.

Torrenzano leaders have extensive experience preparing corporations, non-profits, colleges & universities and religious organizations to react quickly and effectively in the face of violence.

Through their refined process, Torrenzano assess organizations’ existing policies and response structure with an eye toward weaknesses that could further exacerbate a situation. Through a series of interviews with leaders, peer research and analysis, Torrenzano presents concrete recommendations, approaches and policies and procedures to create a best-in-class Violence Response Plan.

Organizations then take the VRP to the next level with the Torrenzano Crisis Simulator™. In scheduled and surprise table-top exercises, participants react in real-time, testing the entire organizations response structure.
